The MBT is one of our neighborhood’s greatest assets, but while it offers a beautiful and car-free route across the city, we hear more about safety concerns, litter and teens running wild after dark. Located as we are by the MBT, we’ve worked with the Metropolitan Police Department to resolve problems that have come up over the years, but now we’re taking it to the next level.
Gearheads is a trail ranger program staffed by Gearin’ Up’s youth mechanics and other neighborhood youth who care about making the MBT live up to its full potential and increasing the community investment in the MBT. Activities involve assistance, cleanup, special events, coffee on the trail, trail challenges and fitness events.
This program is a partnership with WABA and DDOT. Bikes for the Gearheads program are provided by The Daily Rider
